Congratulations to the people of Burma/Myanmar and San Suu Kyi

Aung San Suu Kyi led the National League for Democracy (NLD) to a majority win in Myanmar's first openly contested election in 25 years in November 2015. The win came five years to the day since she was released from 15 years of house arrest.

Aung San Suu Kyi is an opposition leader in her home country of Myanmar and the winner of the 1991 Nobel Prize for peace.

She entered parliament today.

I with Jack Healey and others worked to organize a campaign in the middle 1990s to spotlight San Suu Kyis imprisonment and the plight of Burma under military rule with a Concert for Burma with a diverse roster of music, artists and musicians.
We received a letter smuggled out of Burma at the time from Aung thanking us for our efforts in support of democracy.

I had personalized her experience having survived a horrific military coup in Nigeria during the early 1980s.

I was commissioned to do the concert Poster and massive Stage Backdrop Art.
See below.

Great congratulations to the people of Myanmar and San Suu Kyi.
